Every Dog Has Her Day is completed by returning a small blue dragon toy to the Mysterious Dog in each of seven zones, then visiting her once more in The Gap. The dog is marked when you come near her, but the toy is not always on the same floor. You can do the seven zone encounters in the order your traversal abilities permit.
The Downtown encounter starts the story naturally. The final Gap interaction is easy to miss: seven reunited dogs alone do not award Dog's Best Friend. A current PowerPyx dog route confirms the seven zone reunions, the Gap ending, and the blue toy's appearance.
Seven-zone route
| Zone | Find the dog | Find and return the toy |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown | Rooftop in the southwest corner | On the next roof to the dog's left |
| Central | Rooftop in eastern Central | At the far end of the alley below, in the direction the dog faces |
| West Incursion Zone | Northwest roof reached with Shift | On the neighboring roof the dog looks toward |
| Evacuation Zone | Northern rooftop | Directly above on an upside-down roof; use Shift to reach it and return |
| The Park | Northeastern corner | Behind the dog on a roof with a yellow lift; route electricity through an intermediate roof box |
| Underpass | Platform between Halfway Trail and Research Site | Above the dog on the opposite-gravity floor; use Shift and Reach |
| The Unknown | Northwestern island, reached after Pope's Research | High on the skyscraper the dog faces; Shift up the neighboring building and jump across |
The source calls the Gap meeting “Dog #8” because it is an eighth interaction. There are still seven zone toy puzzles. Keeping those counts separate prevents a needless search for a missing eighth dragon.
Rooftop dogs: Downtown, Central, West Incursion, Evacuation
The first four puzzles teach the same habit: stand next to the dog and look where she is facing before searching the whole district. In Downtown, the dragon is on the next roof left of the dog. In Central, it sits at the end of the alley below the eastern rooftop. In West Incursion, you need Shift to climb to the dog's northwest roof; the toy is on the next roof in her line of sight.
Evacuation Zone reverses the usual vertical search. The toy is on the upside-down roof directly above the dog. Use Shift to attach to that surface, pick up the dragon, and Shift back. If you can see the dog but cannot reach the toy, advancing the relevant Jesse Sightings Fault is the intended fix; the abilities overview maps the movement tools to their unlocks.
The Park: carry power to the lift
The Park toy is behind the northeastern dog, high on a roof with a yellow lift platform. A Power Core Station west of the dog supplies electricity, but running straight from the station to the lift takes too long. Carry the charge to an electrical box on a roof midway between them, then continue from that intermediate point to the lift. The roof with the power boxes is reached through doors along the route. Ride up, take the blue dragon, and return it to the dog's basket.
This is the one zone where following only the dog's gaze is insufficient. The electrical relay is the actual route puzzle. If the charge expires before you reach the lift, stop trying to sprint the full distance and find the middle box.
Underpass: work with opposite gravity
The Underpass dog stands on a platform between the Halfway Trail fast-travel door and Research Site. You need Shift for the gravity route and Reach for grapple points. The toy is directly above the dog on the opposite-gravity floor. Near the dog, find the pillar with orange pipes and a white radiator. Jump from the radiator toward the ceiling and Shift to the toy.
The return is unintuitive. Drop the toy toward the dog's side; the opposite gravity carries it up toward her. Use Reach on the side ledge to get yourself back, collect the toy there, and complete the interaction. If you have not unlocked Reach through the Subway Fault, leave this dog until that quest is complete.
The Unknown and the last visit
Pope's Research opens access to the northwestern island in the Unknown. The dog faces a skyscraper, and the dragon is near its top, farther away than in the earlier zones. Shift onto the neighboring building, walk upward, and cross to the target tower near the top. Carry the toy back to the dog.
After all seven baskets have received their dragons, hold the control for entering The Gap and interact with the dog there. That final meeting completes the side story, awards Dog's Best Friend, and gives the Untapped Trusted Spanner artifact according to the cited route. The trophy guide places this cleanup alongside other zone activities; the guide hub links the broader quest and traversal help.
